In correctional settings, his responsibilities have included mental-health assessments, Mental Status Examinations, crisis response, suicide-risk evaluation, individualized treatment planning, individual and group interventions, clinical documentation and multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatric, medical and correctional professionals.

His outpatient experience has included behavioral-health assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, individual, group and family treatment, and treatment approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, acceptance-based, dialectical-behavioral, rational-emotive and motivational interventions, as appropriate to his professional role and the patient’s clinical needs.

Leadership role at Therapy House

As Founder and Executive Director, his role extends beyond direct clinical service. He is responsible for helping establish the strategic direction, clinical philosophy, organizational culture and long-term development of Therapy House. His leadership focus is to build a healthcare organization with clear clinical pathways, professional accountability, reliable documentation, patient-safety systems, multidisciplinary coordination and measurable quality improvement.

  • Strategic planning and organizational development for Therapy House.
  • Behavioral-health and addiction-recovery program development.
  • Development of assessment, treatment-planning, documentation and continuing-care systems.
  • Clinical quality, risk-management and patient-safety oversight within his professional role.
  • Development of multidisciplinary referral and collaboration systems.
  • Staff development, supervision structures and professional accountability systems as permitted by applicable professional rules.
  • Quality-improvement, outcome-monitoring and clinical-governance planning.
  • Development of a Therapy House model that can operate through strong systems and qualified professionals rather than depending solely on the founder.

Behavioral health leadership philosophy

Effective care begins with understanding the whole person — not simply treating a symptom. The Therapy House behavioral-health model is intended to consider psychological symptoms, substance-use patterns, family and social circumstances, physical-health concerns, safety and risk factors, functional needs, recovery supports and the patient’s own treatment goals. The purpose of assessment is not to place every patient into every available service. Instead, assessment should help determine what the patient needs, which professional should be involved, what level of care can be provided safely, and when referral to a hospital, specialist or higher level of care is appropriate.

Addiction & recovery leadership

Addiction recovery is an important part of Dr. Raheem’s professional background and the planned clinical identity of Therapy House. His experience includes substance-use counseling, psychoeducation, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, family-oriented intervention and relapse-prevention work. This background informs a recovery philosophy that extends beyond simply stopping substance use, addressing the behavioral and psychological factors associated with substance use, motivation for change, family impact, relapse risk, coping skills, appropriate medical needs and the development of sustainable long-term recovery.

Multidisciplinary leadership

Therapy House is being developed around coordinated care rather than isolated departments. Behavioral Health & Addiction is intended to serve as the core clinical service, with Medical & Recovery, Nutrition & Metabolic Health, and Physiotherapy & Wellness participating according to patient need, professional scope, staffing and operational readiness. Within Therapy House, each regulated professional should retain responsibility for decisions within that professional’s own scope, while the organization creates the systems needed for appropriate communication, referral, documentation and continuity of care.

Founder vision

“My vision for Therapy House is to create a place where people are not reduced to a diagnosis or a single problem. We want to understand the person, identify what is contributing to the problem, connect the right professionals, and build a realistic pathway toward recovery, healthier functioning and long-term wellness.”
